Tarek Sherif
Chairman & Chief Executive Officer
One of the founders of Medidata Solutions, Tarek has served as chief executive officer since 2001. Tarek has effectively orchestrated the evolution of the company to become one of the industry leaders in clinical technology and services, now relied upon by leading biopharmaceutical companies worldwide. Throughout Tarek's tenure, Medidata Solutions has experienced significant growth in order to support ongoing and new clinical trials in more than 80 countries. In his role as Chairman and CEO, Tarek is involved in business development, as well as general and strategic management including budgets, sales and marketing, product development, finance, human resources, and customer and partner relations.Tarek brings to Medidata Solutions more than 16 years of broad-based financial and managerial experience. He has founded and managed a variety of technology and service driven businesses, focusing on strategic initiatives, financial management and analysis. Prior to forming Medidata Solutions, Tarek was the managing member of a partnership focused on public and private investments in technology and life science companies, where he managed both long and short equity hedge funds.
Previously, he co-managed a privately held equity fund specializing in publicly traded technology companies, including those in the healthcare and information technology fields. He has also served as assistant vice president of corporate finance at General Electric Capital Corporation, and mergers and acquisitions analyst at Brown Brothers Harriman & Company.
Tarek received his B.A. in Economics from Yale University in 1984. Following a career on Wall Street, Tarek attended Columbia Business School where he earned a degree in business administration and finance and graduated first in a class of 650 students in 1991.

Glen de Vries
President, Medidata Solutions Worldwide
Glen is one of the founders of Medidata Solutions and the original architect of the Medidata Rave® electronic data capture and clinical data management system. Since the company's inception, Glen has been responsible for driving Medidata's technology vision, building the company's critical sponsor and partner relationships, and helping to forge a new eClinical reality for the biopharmaceutical industry. He has also been instrumental in drawing top talent from the clinical research community and enterprise software and IT industries to bring a range of expertise to the Medidata team.Prior to his work with Medidata Solutions, Glen's pioneering efforts in online physician/patient relationships were featured by The New York Times and drew the attention of the Office of Health and Human Services. He has over 10 years of experience in medical software development, including Electronic Health Records and consumer-targeted products. As president of OceanTek, a web development firm focused on applications for the healthcare industry, he was the chief consultant for a Fortune 500 global e-commerce project, and was the author of web security components currently in use by thousands of web sites and corporate intranets.
Glen has studied probabilistic algorithms at the Courant Institute of Mathematics (New York University) and received his B.S. in molecular biology and genetics from Carnegie Mellon University. His subsequent work at Columbia University focused on both research science and medical informatics, working on a blood assay for the detection of micro-metastases in prostate cancer patients, and creating a paperless clinical data management system. His peer-reviewed papers have been published in Cancer, the Journal of Urology, Molecular Diagnostics, Urology, and Urologic Clinics of North America.
Glen has been a featured presenter at multiple Drug Information Association (DIA) meetings in U.S., as well as DIA Japan, SCDM, Bio-IT World, BIOPHEX, Partnerships with CROs, the National Medical Association Annual Meeting, and American Urological Association Annual Meetings.

Carlos Dominguez
Senior Vice President, Office of the Chairman of the Board and CEO, Cisco Systems, Inc.
Carlos has served on Medidata Solutions' board of directors since 2008. He is a Senior Vice President in the Office of the Chairman of the Board and CEO at Cisco Systems, under John Chambers. He speaks frequently to audiences worldwide on the impact the Internet and technology are having on our lives, and the importance of collaboration, social networking and video and why every company should pay attention to the large and emerging group of millennials, or Generation Y.Before joining Chambers' office, Carlos led Cisco's Worldwide Service Provider Operations, playing a key role in shaping the SP business strategy and helping to grow SP to approximately 46% of Cisco's overall business. During his leadership, U.S. Service Provider sales grew from $500 million to a $2.5 billion business. Prior to Cisco, Carlos held various executive roles at Timeplex Inc, and New Jersey Bell/Bell Atlanticom.
Carlos is a frequent speaker at industry conferences such as HIMSS, Venture Atlanta and Cisco Networkers and has been recognized as one of the top 50 Hispanic executives in the U.S. by Hispanic Engineering and Information Technology magazine. Carlos serves on the board of directors for Communities in Schools of New Jersey, National Action Council for Minorities in Engineering and YMCA of greater New York.

Neil Kurtz M.D.
President, Chief Executive Officer, Member of the Board of Directors, Golden Living
Neil has served on Medidata Solutions' board of directors since 2002. He is also currently the president, chief executive officer of Golden Living, a leading provider of long-term care.Prior to joining Golden Living, Neil was the president and CEO of TorreyPines Therapeutics Inc., a clinical stage biopharmaceutical company, as well as president of Ingenix Pharmaceutical Services, a division of UHG, and a member of the UHG Executive Board. Additionally, he co-founded Worldwide Clinical Trials, a contract research organization, where he held the positions of president and chief executive officer until its acquisition by United Health Group in 1999. Neil held various senior positions with Boots Pharmaceuticals, Bayer Corporation, Bristol-Myers Squibb and Merck. He currently serves on the board of NeurogesX, a specialty pharmaceutical company.
Neil has consulted more than a dozen pharmaceutical companies and served as member of the faculty in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Connecticut and the University of California, Los Angeles. He holds a B.A. in Psychology from New York University and an M.D. from the Medical College of Wisconsin.

George McCulloch
Partner, Level Equity Management
George is currently a partner of Level Equity Management, LLC, a private investment firm he co-founded in July 2009. Prior to founding Level Equity, George was a partner at Insight Venture Partners, a $3 billion private equity and venture capital firm focusing on the global software and Internet industries. George joined Insight in 2002 and was previously an Associate at Summit Partners from 1999 to 2002.
George holds a B.A. in History from Stanford University.

Peter Sobiloff
Managing Director, Insight
Peter Sobiloff has served on our board of directors since 2004. Mr. Sobiloff has served as a managing director at Insight since 2000. Immediately prior to joining Insight in 1998, he was vice president of business development at i2 Technologies from 1997 to 1998. Mr. Sobiloff was previously president of Think Systems, a supply chain management software company. Prior to this, he was president of Datalogix, a vendor of enterprise application software for process manufacturers, and previously held senior executive roles at Ross Systems, a vendor of financial application software. Mr. Sobiloff holds a B.A. from Baruch University.

Robert B. Taylor
Senior Vice President for Finance and Administration, The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation
Bob has served on Medidata Solutions' board of directors since April 2008. He is the senior vice president for finance and administration for The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, a nonprofit, tax-exempt, educational organization in Williamsburg, Virginia.In addition, Bob serves on the board of directors and as chair of the audit committee for Zygo Corporation, a worldwide supplier of optical metrology instruments, precision optics and electro-optical design and manufacturing services. He is also a member of the finance committee for the Rockefeller Brothers Fund, a member of the board of directors of the Williamsburg Community Health Foundation, as well as chair of its investment committee and a member of its finance committee.
Prior to joining The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, Bob served as vice president and treasurer of Wesleyan University and as a staff accountant for Ernst & Young. Bob holds a B.A., magna cum laude, from St. Lawrence University.
